I’m Back

Coming back to this as my primary blog. Hoping I can eventually share previous blog posts to http://www.emotionalfitnestraining.com, but if not such is life. At 82 and dependent on Social Security, I could not afford the sudden increase in hosting costs.

This is a better option anyway, as it can more easily be taken over, by friend or family when I can no longer keep up. Hoping to go on for many years but, do have health problems. Moreover to be realistic, one never knows when the powers above us decide to move us else were. I am going to do a few posts introducing you to Emotional Fitness and then will probably post at least weekly using what I call Poster Coaches – short letter size quotes about what matters, jokes, and Emotional Fitness exercises all designed to strengthen your Emotional Intelligence.

Travels With the Punk

We are On the Road Again, as Willie sings and with the Punk.  Will probably only post once a week until Home Again.

10491223_483701851761433_3440731418737989434_nA Punky laugh.  The Punk did not like the first day of traveling. He had to habituate or in other words get used to the confinement and different noises. The next morning when we loaded the car and told him to get in, he beat it back to the motel door. David had to pick him up and put him in the car while he whined and protested.

That disobedience is why he will probably always be  a Service Dog in Training.  However, he does well in restaurants, and most indoor places. Barking is a bit of a problem, but not when he is at heel or being carried.

One Quizno manager made us show the above ID and examined it carefully. Everyone else just waved us through with big smiles when I said, “Service Dog.”

One of the bonuses of our various aging problems – go anywhere with the Punk, no extra charges for having him in a motel with us.  Service dogs rock.

When we arrived at our destination, the Punk showed his brilliance by remembering not to chase the Free Range Chickens without our saying a word. Clever boy.

This post was not  inspired by this WordPress Daily Prompt: Memory on the Menu by Ben Huberman  but fits right in. Dear Mom: Write a letter to your mom. Tell her something you’ve always wanted to say, but haven’t been able to.

Dear Mom, I don’t think I every really thanked you enough for all the gifts you bestowed.  Today, I am thinking mostly about how you taught me to love animals. Our house was never without one and at one point held a screech-owl, we eventually set free, several flying squirrels, a canary, a dog and a cat.

The love of animals is a marvelous gift to give any child.  I hope you know how grateful I am for that one of your many gifts.

Missing Emotional Fitness Training Posts?

At least I can still laugh.  When you can laugh about something, you need more help than I can give. The stress of trying to get my blog problems straightened out remains minor in terms of the things that really matter, but I am finding it harder and harder to laugh do here  some Emotional Fitness Tips for  me:

  1. Follow your own advice. OMM, Remember what matters. Try some Sloganeering. Do what self-soothes you best.
  2. Walk away.
  3. Laugh and play.
  4. Nap.
  5. Try again.
  6. Ask for help.
  7. Scream and shout
  8. Try chocolate.
  9. Try wine.
  10. Throw something.
  11. Repeat all of the above.
  12. Give up and stop blogging.

Am giving up for now and sending this out. The Happiness Engineers hard at work. If they make me happy, you will get another post.

Not even sure if I push send if this will reach you. All I can do is try. Do let me know if your get something that resembles an Emotional Fitness Post and not an error message or lots of white space and a few words.
